Prince Harry: The 60 Minutes Interview

 Last weekend, we got to know a personal side of the 'spare' son that the Crown Prince Charles and Princess Diana created as was their duty as a 'just in case' option for Prince William thru an interview that only Prince Harry sat with ABC's Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes.

   If anybody has had the opportunity to watch Netflix's Harry & Meghan multi-part documentary, they would understand. The documentary was created to help explain to the public what has happened to them and why they made these choices. I remember hearing about the almost complete negativity that by the British press that the Sussex's have received, its like a blanket. EVERY form of publicity of British origin has continued to judge Prince Harry and his wife Meghan in a very SCATHING and downgrading way.  America, has been very compassionate and forgiving for Harry and Meghan's situation, as Harry's mother, Diana had a huge following here. 

  Furthermore, you can't really blame Harry at all for the way he's behaving. Ever since it has been known to the British press and in America that the Sussex's were moving to Canada and eventually to California, there have been death threats to Meghan and their child Archie as well, not to mention that the Duchess of Sussex was pregnant with their second child at the time of this move which miscarried their first day in Canada. Harry has a reason to be protective of his family. 

   Harry never wanted to feel so alienated from his British family. But Meghan and Harry were feeling the negative pressure of the British press and wanted to step back by moving to Canada part-time and working on behalf of the Queen there.  But according to Harry, it wasn't to be. In 2019, he had an audience with his grandmother, the Queen, and his father Charles and brother William. It wasn't pleasant. Things got heated, William pushed Harry to the ground creating a small cut on his back. The exact words we don't know but Harry has said that moving to Canada and out of England is an all or nothing deal. Harry was dumbfounded and he looked to his grandmother who sat like a blank stone wall. So he did what he could as a protective husband and father and moved his family away from harm. His royal protection detail has been taken away. 

  Harry talks about the terrible grief he felt from Diana's death and more surprisingly, the complete denial of his mother's death. The grief and denial ultimately forced Harry to choose psychedelic drug use like mushrooms.

  He was able to escape all that when he went into the military. He was able to find a purpose in his life that was something other than himself and being royal.  He has said that he will be forever grateful for his military service as he believes it saved him from utterly destroying and losing himself in drugs and drinking. 

  The reason for giving the interview is so that Prince Harry can promote his new book 'Spare'. The interview with Anderson Cooper was immediately followed with another interview with Michael Strahan on Monday morning for ABC's Good Morning America.

  I happen to think that as much as Harry doesn't want it, history is repeating itself, just not in the way you thought it might, Harry.  Speaking for myself, I am delighted that one of Princess Diana's children has chosen to take up residence in the United States. And I was a big fan of Suits, that seemed to completely lose viewers when Meghan Markle left to be married to Prince Harry. Their affection for each other seems genuine, I don't doubt it at all. Everything I see coming from the British press and media outlets seems to be trying to drive them apart. Make Harry doubt Meghan or vice versa. I think that's the only way that they(The Brits) will be able to fix this. Although Harry did mention that he is still enlisted in the British Army. He's one of the very few British pilots able to master an Apache helicopter. Be careful, Harry! I know you still want to be useful to England. Your military service is how they will get you.
